He's My BOY!

Posted Monday | Comments 0
So, the Wild are down 3-0 to the Ducks, and their fate is in the envelope, as it were. They have played pretty much as well as they could have been expected to play. In some ways this just hurts that much more, and in some ways it's a salve for my burns. Yet today is the happiest day of the whole season for me. Here's why. I have two little girls. The eldest,...

Flyers Mini Camp

Posted Tuesday | Comments 0
This is my first blog. Last week I spent 3 days over at the Flyers practice rink to watch some of their mini camp. I just needed a hockey fix in mid July and this was perfect. I spent Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday over there. Wednesday and Thursday were all drills and your typical hockey practice. Friday was a scrimmage between the two groups. New Flyers asst coach...
Getting right into the Downie thing: -Yes, dirty hit -Yes, deserves a suspension of at LEAST five games -Should Downie be banned for life or even 20 games? No. Look at the replay closely. He doesn't lead with the elbow and honestly it's really borderline if he leaves his feet BEFORE the contact. Based on Downie's past he deserves to not be treated...

High Hopes?

The Philadelphia Flyers surprised everyone last year with a run to the Eastern Conference Finals, and there are a lot of people in Philadelphia who expect more of the same this year. Reflected in the Ice

Posted Saturday | Comments 0
My son’s world is covered with ice. There’s no doubt about where he really belongs. His happiness and sense of self are tied to his time on ice. Nowhere does he show as much aptitude or love. The cold, the skates, the ice, the wind in his hair, the smile on his face… his place is there, on the frozen water with the containing wooden boards. There, he’s more. Mo...

After a rocky 2013-14 season with two MCL sprain injuries the Colorado Avalanche have decided to part ways with PA Parenteau. Colorado has traded PA and a 5th round pick in the 2015 draft to the Montreal Canadians for Forward Danny Briere. Some comparison: Adrian Dater of the Denver Post ranked Pa Parenteau a C for Colorado in 2013-14 (http://blogs.denverpost.com/av...
